White Domes Loop
View Slide Show

White Domes Loop Trail is found at the end of White Domes Road which runs from the Visitor’s Center. It isn’t very far and the views from the drive are spectacular. White Domes Loop is a 1.1 mile loop and is easy. From the parking area you descend into the canyon in fairly deep sand but then it levels out and very gradually climbs backup to the parking lot. You pass part of an old movie set and then go through a short slot canyon before continuing and passing a variety of different kinds of rock formations, often with beautiful bands of different colors running through them. The lizard you see in the 3rd photo is a juvenile chuckwalla. You will see lots of people on this hike but I highly recommend it.
